A theatrical monologue in Greek with English supertitles
6th July 25, 12.30 pm, at the Greek Community in
Bristol
Three performances across the UK - Summer 2025
A woman enters
the stage holding letters written long ago - the final words of young Cypriots
sentenced to die during the 1955-1959 EOKA struggle for liberation. Yet these
letters speak not of death, but of life. Of love for mothers, for children, for
homeland. Of freedom - not as a symbol, but as something worth becoming.
Letters to
Freedom is a poetic and moving theatrical monologue built on authentic farewell
letters, testimonies and poems. As each letter is read, the woman -once a
simple messenger- is transformed. On stage, memory becomes presence. Stillness
becomes ritual. And through her, Freedom finds its voice.
